• Nine fall athletes earn NECC Academic All-Conference

    ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The New England Collegiate Conference released their Fall 2008 NECC Academic All-Conference award winners and Lesley is proud to announce that nine fall athletes were on the list. Juniors and seniors who held a grade point average of 3.40 or higher on a 4.0 scale were recognized.

    NASHUA, N.H. – Sophomore Meaghan Chadwick (Chelmsford, Mass.) knocked down 16 kills and added five digs, while junior Lindsey Marek (Killingworth, Conn.) followed with 10 kills five aces and three total blocks pacing fourth-seeded Lesley University past second-seeded Elms College, 3-1 to capture the inaugural New England Collegiate Conference women’s volleyball championship Saturday at Daniel Webster College’s Vagge Gymnasium.

    ATTLEBORO, Mass. – All eight sponsored programs were represented on 2008 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women’s Volleyball All-Conference Team, it was announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy. In addition to the All-NECC honors, three separate major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award were also voted upon and selected this week.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University hosted Mitchell College in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Quarterfinals on Wednesday night and earned a 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-16) victory to advance onto the championship tournament to be held Saturday at Daniel Webster College.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University women’s volleyball team defeated Anna Maria College 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-22) on Senior Night as after the game the team honored four seniors, Kelly Harrington (Toledo, Ohio), Lindsey Marek (Killingworth, Conn.), Hana Sakamoto (Tokyo, Japan) and Gianna Spaziante (Hawthorne, N.Y.).
  • Lynx wrap up conference play with tri-match split

    CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Lesley University women’s volleyball team competed in a tri-match with New England Collegiate Conference opponents Elms College and Southern Vermont College and walked away with a split. The Lynx lost to the Blazers 3-1 (18-25, 25-21, 27-25, 25-21) and defeated the Mountaineers 3-0 (25-11, 25-7, 25-10).
  • Lynx outlast Blue Jays to win 3-1

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Saint Joseph College (Conn.) women’s volleyball team visited Lesley University and were defeated by the Lynx 3-1 (27-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-16). Both sides exchanged the lead several times throughout the entire match, but Lesley was able to fend off several offensive threats from Saint Joseph to get the victory.
  • Lynx top Rams 3-1 at home

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The women’s volleyball team faced off against Suffolk University and defeated the Rams 3-1 (25-20, 25-17, 17-25, 25-16). The Lynx improved their record to 5-9 (4-1 NECC) while Suffolk dropped to 5-13 (3-4 GNAC).
  • Simmons takes deciding set for 3-2 win over Lesley

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Lesley University women’s volleyball squad was forced into a deciding fifth set against Simmons College on Wednesday evening, but lost to drop their record to 4-9 (4-1 NECC). Simmons improved their record to 11-6 (4-2 GNAC) after winning the match against the Lynx 3-2 (25-16, 25-27, 18-25, 25-12, 15-11).
  • UMass-Boston sweeps Lesley 3-0

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University women’s volleyball team faced a high-powered UMass-Boston squad on Tuesday night and lost to the Beacons 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-13). The Lynx dropped their 2008 record to 4-8 (4-1 NECC) while the Beacons improved to 14-7 (1-1 LEC).
  • Lesley splits NECC tri-match with DWC and Becker

    NASHUA, N.H. – The Lesley University women’s volleyball split with New England Collegiate Conference opponents Daniel Webster College and Becker College on Saturday afternoon. The Lynx beat Eagles 3-2, but fell to the Hawks 3-1.
  • Lesley loses close match to ENC in deciding set

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University and Eastern Nazarene College battled through five sets on Tuesday evening, but the Crusaders topped the Lynx 3-2 (25-23, 12-25, 25-22, 14-25, 13-25). With the loss the Lynx dropped to 3-6 (1-0 NECC) while the Crusaders improved to 5-8 (0-5 TCCC).
  • Marek earns NECC Player of the Week

    ATTLEBORO, Mass. – After an 0-5 start to the 2008 season, the Lesley University women’s volleyball team got on a roll this past week, defeating three NECC opponents behind the solid play of Lindsey Marek (Killingworth, Conn.). For her efforts, Marek earned NECC Player of the Week.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In a women’s volleyball non-conference match between the GNAC and the NECC, St. Joseph’s (Me.) defeated Lesley University 3-1 (25-21, 25-14, 21-25, 25-15). The loss drops Lesley’s record to 0-3 (0-0 NECC) while the Monks improve to 3-10 (0-2 GNAC).
