Lesley splits NECC tri-match with DWC and Becker

NASHUA, N.H. - The Lesley University women's volleyball split with New England Collegiate Conference opponents Daniel Webster College and Becker College on Saturday afternoon.  The Lynx beat Eagles 3-2, but fell to the Hawks 3-1. 

The Lynx are now 4-7 (4-1 NECC) while DWC moves to 8-3 (3-1 NECC) and Becker goes to 5-10 (1-2 NECC).

Game One: Lesley 3, Daniel Webster 2

The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 set lead, but Lesley stormed back to sweep the next three sets for the come-from-behind victory.

With the match knotted at 2-2, Lesley survived two Eagle match points to escape with a 18-16 win.

Leading the way for Lesley was Lindsey Marek (Killingworth, Conn.) who had eight kills, eight digs, and 11 blocked shots. 

Game Two: Lesley 1, Becker 3

Lesley maintained momentum from their first match as they took the opening set 25-22, but the Hawks rattled off three straight to take the 3-1 victory. 

Marek followed up her game one performance with another stellar outing, recording seven kills but Lesley was led by Kaitlyn Wechsler (Merrick, N.Y.) who had 10 kills and seven digs in the loss.
