Lesley loses 3-0 to Lasell in first match of 2008

NEWTON, Mass. - In their first match of the 2008 season, the women's volleyball team lost to Lasell College 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-6).  Although the Lynx lost their opener, there were some bright spots on the day as the team caught of glimpse of some talented on their roster.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Wechsler (Merrick, N.Y.) led the team with four kills on 16 total attacks on the day.  Wechsler, also a women's basketball player for the Lynx, played well defensively as she tallied nine digs on the day as well.  Hanna Sakamoto (Tokyo, Japan) was also impressive on defense as she compiled 10 digs of her own.

For the Lasers, Danielle Drapeau (Biddeford, Me.) led her team with seven kills on 20 total attacks.  Drapeau also served up two aces, blocked two shots and assisted on another.

Lesley will be back in action on Saturday against Maine Maritime Academy, last year's North Atlantic Conference champion and the team who ousted the Lynx from the tournament in 2007.  The game will be at 1:00 pm at home.
