Lesley loses close match to ENC in deciding set

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Lesley University and Eastern Nazarene College battled through five sets on Tuesday evening, but the Crusaders topped the Lynx 3-2 (25-23, 12-25, 25-22, 14-25, 13-25).  With the loss the Lynx dropped to 3-6 (1-0 NECC) while the Crusaders improved to 5-8 (0-5 TCCC).

The Lynx were led by junior Kelly Harrington (Toledo, Ohio) who tallied four kills on 14 total attacks.  Harrington also finished with two aces and six digs. 

Lindsey Marek (Killingworth, Conn.), a usual suspect in the Lesley offensive attack was held to just one kill, but the junior did block seven shots in the match.

Eastern Nazarene got an impressive performance from senior captain Christina Ludwick (Meredith, N.H.) who recorded 16 digs, 21 assists, and five service aces in the five-set victory.  Allison Aupperlee (Quincy, Mass.) led the team defensively with 20 digs and Amber Burns (Fall River, Mass.) had a team-high 10 kills. 

Lesley will next face off in a tri-match against NECC opponents Daniel Webster College and Becker College in Nashua, New Hampshire starting at 10:00 am.  Eastern Nazarene, who broke a three-game losing streak, will next face Mount Ida College on Thursday evening.
