    NEW LONDON, Conn. – Behind 30 points and eight rebounds from Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.), the Lesley University women’s basketball team captured the inaugural New England Collegiate Conference women’s basketball title by defeating Daniel Webster College 63-55. Lowe was named NECC Tournament Most Valuable Player as she averaged 28 points and eight rebounds while shooting 65.6% from the floor in the two past two games.

    NEW LONDON, Conn. – In the second game of semifinal action at the New England Collegiate Conference Championships held at Mitchell College, the Lesley University women’s basketball team cruised to a 65-49 victory over Elms College to reach the conference championship game for the first time in program history.

    ATTLEBORO, Mass. – All nine of the sponsored programs were represented on 2009 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women’s Basketball All-Conference Team, it was announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy. In addition to the All-NECC honors, three separate major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award were also voted upon and selected this week.

    ATTLEBORO, Mass.—Mitchell College has claimed the top seed for the 2008-2009 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women’s Basketball Championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites the evening of Tuesday, February 24. The Mariners (16-9 overall) earned the top spot in the upcoming NECC tournament after posting 14-2 conference record.

    NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Lesley University women’s basketball team went into Mitchell College needing a victory to take hold of the number one seed going into the New England Collegiate Conference playoffs but were defeated 61-49 by the Mariners. Despite the loss, the Lynx still earned a first round bye and advance to the conference semifinals to be played Friday evening at Mitchell.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University women’s basketball team defeated Daniel Webster College 61-50 behind 20 points from junior Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) and improved their 2008-2009 record to 15-9 (14-1 NECC). Daniel Webster dropped to 15-10 (10-6 NECC) in the loss.

    CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Lesley University women’s basketball team took a firm hold of the number one seed in the New England Collegiate Conference heading into the playoffs after a 67-56 triumph over Elms College on Thursday evening. Brianne Caira (Pelham, N.H.) scored a career-high 29 points in the victory.

    BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Lesley University women’s basketball team defeated Southern Vermont College 69-61 on Saturday evening to improve to 12-1 in New England Collegiate Conference play. The Lynx move to 13-9 overall while the Mountaineers drop to 5-17 (3-10 NECC).

With the win, the Lynx improved to 11-9 (10-1 NECC) while the Wildcats dropped to 2-18 (2-9 NECC).

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Bay Path College Wildcats was in the lead for much of the first half over the number one team in the New England Collegiate Conference, Lesley University, but the Lynx were able to regain composure to defeat the visitors 64-40. Lesley improved to 10-9 (9-1 NECC) while Bay Path dropped to 3-17 (1-10 NECC).

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University suffered their first New England Collegiate Conference loss of the season to the visiting Elms College Blazers 60-51 on Thursday evening. The Lynx fell to 9-9 (8-1 NECC) while the Blazers improved to 10-9 (8-2 NECC).

With the victory, Lesley is above a 0.500 record for the first time this season at 9-8 (8-0 NECC) while Bay Path dropped to 3-14 (1-7 NECC).

The Lynx beat the Mitchell College Mariners 68-54.

    LEICESTER, Mass. – The Lesley University traveled to Leicester, Massachusetts to face off against the preseason #1 team in the New England Collegiate Conference, the Becker College Hawks, and won 70-58 for their second conference victory in as many games. The Lynx went on a 16-4 run in the final 6:30 of second half to solidify their triumph.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Suffolk University women’s basketball team got a 21-point effort out of freshman Julieanne Conrad (West Bridgewater, Mass.) in a 58-46 defeat of Lesley University on Thursday evening. With the victory, the Rams improved to 6-4 on the season while the Lynx dropped to 1-8 heading into conference play.
  • Grand Canyon Classic Recap

    Mesa, Ariz. – After several months of fundraising dating back to last season, the Lesley University women’s basketball team finally completed their holiday season trip to Mesa, Arizona, just outside of Phoenix, to play in the Grand Canyon Classic. The Lady Lynx played in two games during the week-long trip against The College of New Jersey and Plattsburgh State University.

    BOSTON, Mass. – In their final game before making their trip to Phoenix, Arizona for the Trip Sports’ Grand Canyon Classic, the Lesley University women’s basketball team was defeated by Emerson College 73-55. The Lady Lynx fall to 1-5 in the early season while the Lions improved to 6-3.
  • Saints beat Lynx; Emmanuel coach wins 600th

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Although the Emmanuel College Saints trailed by one point in the first half to the Lesley University Lynx, the visiting Saints were able to put together a huge second half performance to win 73-59. With the victory, Emmanuel Head Coach Andy Yosinoff earned his 600th career coaching victory.
