CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University women's basketball team
capitalized on a 17 point, 11 rebound effort from Hailee Lowe
(Hamilton, Mass.) to win their third straight New
England Collegiate Conference game. With the win, Lesley
improved to 4-8 (3-0 NECC) while Newbury dropped to 0-10 (0-3
NECC).
Lowe finished the game hitting 6-of-10 shots from the floor and
4-of-6 from the charity stripe in the victory. The junior
center also chipped in with six steals and six assists.
Kaitlyn Wechsler (Merrick, N.Y.) was an efficient
shooter, as the sophomore sunk 7-of-9 attempts from the field for
14 points. Brianne Caira (Pelham, N.H.) also
hit double-digit points with 10.
The Nighthawks were led by freshman Kendra Bannister
(Stafford, Va.) who led her team with 12 points
and nine rebounds. Bannister also recorded three blocks, two
steals, and two assists.
The Lynx were able to convert 23 Nighthawks turnovers into 27
points and were effective in the paint, outscoring their opponents
36-6.
Lesley will be back in action on Tuesday for an away game at
Daniel Webster, starting at 7:00 pm. Newbury will host Bay
Path College on the same night at 7:00 pm.
