Lesley improves to 7-0 in the NECC

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University women's basketball ran their win-streak to seven games with a 78-37 victory over Southern Vermont College on Thursday night.  The Lynx evened up their season record to 8-8 (7-0 NECC) while the Mountaineers dropped to 5-12 (3-5 NECC). 

Kaitlyn Wechsler (Merrick, N.Y.) scored a team-high 15 points with five steals on the game, but the Lynx got efforts from several players on their roster. 

Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.  Kelly Harrington (Toledo, Ohio) provided a spark off the bench by hitting 4-of-7 three-point attempts for 12 points. 

Brianne Caira (Pelham, N.H.) nearly tallied a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.  The sophomore also recorded four steals, two blocks, and two assists.

Southern Vermont's Kayla Whitman (Bennington, Vt.) led her team with 16 points and four rebounds.  The freshman was also able to force turnovers as she tallied seven steals.  Markeisha Mullen (Windsor Mills, Md.) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.  Mullen blocked four shots and had three steals.

Lesley will travel to Bay Path College on Saturday, January 31 for a 5:00 pm game.  Southern Vermont hosts Becker College on the same day for a 1:00 pm game.
