Lesley 66, Wheelock 32

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University women's basketball defeated Wheelock College 66-32 en route to their fifth straight victory in New England Collegiate Conference play.  The Lynx improved to 6-8 (5-0 NECC) while the Wildcats dropped to 1-12 (1-4 NECC).

Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) recorded her second double-double of season as the junior tallied 23 points and 10 rebounds.  Lowe was 8-of-18 from the floor including one three-pointer and 6-of-6 from the charity stripe.

Rachael O'Mara (Levittown, N.Y.), Kaitlyn Wechsler (Merrick, N.Y.), and Brianne Caira (Pelham, N.H.) chipped in with nine, eight, and seven points, respectively.  Cassidy Freed (Brattleboro, Vt.) gave a solid effort three assists, three steals, and two blocks.

The Wildcats leading scorer was Jessica Battista (Johnston, R.I.) who scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds.  Battista also finished the game with two assists and a block.

Wheelock held an early lead for the first 9:30 of the game, but Lesley went on a 24-10 run to end the half. 

With their offense in full swing in the second half, the Lynx were able to extend their lead by converting 15 Wildcat turnovers into 17 points.  Lesley was also able to outscore their opponents in the paint 34-6 on the game.

Lesley will be back in action on January 27 at 8:00 pm against Mitchell College.  Wheelock travels to Mitchell on January 24 for a 1:00 pm game.
