BOSTON, Mass. - In their final game before making their trip to Phoenix, Arizona for the Trip Sports' Grand Canyon Classic, the Lesley University women's basketball team was defeated by Emerson College 73-55.  The Lady Lynx fall to 1-5 in the early season while the Lions improved to 6-3. 

Lesley kept the game to within four points for the first 12 minutes of the first half, but Emerson went on a 12-6 run to stretch out their lead. 

Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) was dominant in the period, scoring 12 of her game-high 20 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor.  Lowe was also a presence defensively down low as she recorded three blocks in the half.  She would finish the game with four blocks total.

Emerson maintained their momentum through the second half as the team shot 50.0% from the floor and were efficient from three-point land, nailing 5-of-6 long range jumpers. 

The Lions were led by Lauren Zaniboni (San Diego, Calif.) who tallied a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Also hitting double-digits from Emerson were Maude Okrah (Rutland, Mass.), Lauren Vassallo (Oxford, Conn.), and Andrea Kosek (Latham, N.Y.) who scored 11, 10, and 10 points, respectively.

Despite the loss, Lynx sophomore transfer Rachel O'Mara (Levittown, N.Y.) had her best game of the season to-date with 13 points.  O'Mara hit both of her three-point attempts and sunk all five free throw attempts. 

The Lynx will take a couple of weeks off before traveling to Arizona to face off against The College of New Jersey and Plattsburgh State on December 29 and 31.  Emerson's first game in the new year will be on January 5 at 7:00 pm against Wheelock College at home.
