  • Ross Named Head Coach of Lesley Softball

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University Athletics Director Jen Benway has announced Heather Ross as the newest Head Coach of the Lynx Softball program. Ross, standout player at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, comes to Lesley after spending the past three seasons as an Assistant Coach for the River Hawks.

    LEICESTER, Mass. – Lesley University opened the day with an 8-0 victory over Newbury College to gain entry in the final round of the New England Collegiate Conference Softball Championship, but would see their run end at the hands of top-seed and host Becker College. The Hawks (27-10) finished the Tournament with a perfect 3-0 record as they bested the Lynx 8-0 in the second game of the afternoon to claim the NECC title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

    LEICESTER, Mass. – Third-seed Lesley University split a pair of games in the opening day of the New England Collegiate Conference Softball Championship today at Russell Field in Leicester, Mass. The Lynx slugged their way to a 17-6 victory over second-seeded Newbury College in the first game of the day, but fell 6-5 in a back-and-forth affair to top-seed and host Becker College in the nightcap.

    WESTON, Mass. – Lesley University smashed 15 hits on their way to an 11-1 New England Collegiate Conference First Round victory over Bay Path University Wednesday night at Regis College. The Lynx will advance to weekend play in the NECC Championship Tournament and battle second-seeded Newbury College at 12:00p in Leicester, Mass. Top-seeded Becker College will be the host for the double-elimination tournament.

    LEICESTER, Mass.- Lesley University delivered Becker College the first conference loss of the season as the Lynx topped their hosts 6-4 in game one of a New England Collegiate Conference doubleheader Sunday afternoon in Leicester, Mass. The Hawks bounced back to earn a split on the day, downing the Lynx 4-2 in the nightcap.

The Nighthawks claimed a 5-3 victory in the opener before coming from behind to plate two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to walk-off with an 11-10 win in the nightcap.

    WENHAM, Mass. – Lesley University senior Selena Quezada (West Covina, Calif.) registered a combined five hits to lead the Lynx to a doubleheader sweep over Gordon College this afternoon in a non-conference affair. Lesley, winners of eight of their last nine games, improve to 17-11 on the season while the pair of losses drops the Fighting Scots to 10-21-1 overall.

    NEWTON, Mass. – Lesley University scored a combined 29 runs on 20 hits as the Lynx slugged their way to a New England Collegiate Conference doubleheader sweep over Southern Vermont College this afternoon on Senior Day. The Lynx scored eight runs in the bottom of the first inning in game once as they ran away for a 14-5 win before putting together an 11-run fourth inning in the nightcap to secure a 15-0 triumph.

The Lynx forced the split after the Mariners held off another late comeback attempt by the Lynx to earn an 8-7 triumph in the opener.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Lesley University split a doubleheader with host Emmanuel College in non-conference softball tonight at Roberto Clemente Park. The Lynx were victorious in the opener by a score of 5-2 before falling to the Saints in game two 6-2. Lesley moves to 5-9 overall on the season while Emmanuel goes to 8-7 on the season.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University split a non-conference doubleheader with Framingham State University on a cold, damp day at Buckingham Field. The Rams clipped the Lynx 4-3 in the opener before Lesley salvaged the split with an 8-1 win in game two. The nightcap wrapped up in the sixth due to darkness.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University blistered past Daniel Webster College taking both ends of a New England Collegiate Conference doubleheader this afternoon at Buckingham Field in Lesley’s home opener. Sophomore Kaera Wyse (Reading, Mass.) tossed a no-hitter in game one while the offense put up 26 runs in the shutout before taking a 20-1 decision in the second matchup of the afternoon.

    KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Lesley University sophomore Kaera Wyse (Reading, Mass.) threw five innings of one-hit ball to lift the Lynx to a 1-0 victory over Utica College as the Lynx wrapped up their final day of play at the Rebel Spring games with a doubleheader split. After posting the shutout over the Pioneers, the Lynx fell 6-0 to #23 Cortland State.
