Paul Vasconcelos enters his third year as head coach for the
women's soccer team at Lesley University. In his first year,
the women's program made a remarkable turn around, improving to
14-4-1 in the 2007 season and getting into the record books as the
NCAA All-Time Most Improved Division III program in the
country. As a result Vasconcelos was selected as the 2007
North Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year.
The following year in 2008, Lesley women's soccer recorded their
best season in the history of the program going 16-3-2 as the team
reached the conference championship for the first time ever.
Meanwhile, Vasconcelos collected his second Coach of the Year award
, this time as the New England Collegiate Conference 2008 Coach of
the Year
In 2002 he was appointed the Assistant Coach at Milton Academy
where he stayed on for just one season, before leaving to become
the Assistant Soccer Coach at Emerson College. At Emerson he
helped lead the Lions to their best record in the programs history
in just his first year. He stayed at Emerson for three
seasons leading the Lions to two straight GNAC Conference
semifinals.
In 2004 he was hired as a full time staff coach at South Coast
Scorpions a premier girls club based out of Braintree. In his
time there he trained some of the top female players in the
state. A member of the US Soccer Coaches Organization and the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America, Vasconcelos holds
the USSF National C License, KNVB Dutch Advanced License and NSCAA
Director of Coaching Diploma along with a few international
licenses. He has recently been hired as the Massachusetts ODP
State U14 assistant girls coach. Currently he is the Director
of Coaching at Eastern Mass FC, a premier youth club based out of
Canton, Massachusetts. Coach Vasconcelos is also a member of the
NCAA Division III New England Regional Advisory Committee and was
recently made the NECC Representative for the NSCAA Ranking
Committee.
Coach Vasconcelos commented on his opportunity with the women's
program, "My staff and I are dedicated to recruiting top flight
student-athletes to come in and make an immediate impact to our
already successful program. We look to be one of the top
programs in the NECC for years to come."

Kim Fraser comes back for her second season as an assistant
coach at Lesley.
Coach Fraser has had ample experience coaching high school girls
and younger. She played at Brandeis University, where she
graduated in May 2008 with a dual-degree in Mathematics and
Economics.
Her playing experience includes state championship wins with
multiple Massachusetts District Select Teams and the Massachusetts
Bay State Team, as well as notable success as a four-year starter
on the Newburyport High School Varsity Team.

Jon Kessler joins Paul Vasconcelos' staff at Lesley University
as the Goalkeeper Coach this year. Coach Kessler will be
handling all the day-to-day training and match preparation for the
goalkeepers. Coach Kessler holds an NSCAA Advanced National
Diploma, NSCAA National GK Diploma and holds a USSF "C"
License. Coach Kessler played his college ball at Denison
University in Ohio. Along with his duties for the Lynx, Kessler is
a New England Revolution Academy Coach in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
