Softball Places Six on NECC All-Conference Teams

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Six members of the Lesley University softball team have been recognized on the New England Collegiate Conference All-Conference Teams, announced today by NECC Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Rebecca Mullen.

Senior Jess Reynolds (Londonderry, N.H.) and junior Mekenzi Golden (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) were each voted to the First Team and sophomore Kaera Wyse (Reading, Mass.) was named to the Second Team. Senior Selena Quezada (West Covina, Calif.) and freshman Abby Henderson (Rochester, N.H.) each earned Third Team honors while senior Ashliegh Ramirez (Newport, Ore.) was added to the inaugural All-Sportsmanship Team.

Reynolds crushed NECC pitching and led the conference with a .617 batting average throughout league play. The senior added three home runs, 20 RBI, and 18 runs scored in 15 NECC matchups. Golden, who is making her third straight appearance on the First Team, hit .389 with four home runs, 19 RBI, and 22 runs scored while finishing second in the NECC with nine doubles. The junior appeared in 16 conference games.

Wyse earned Second Team honors after leading the conference with 8.87 strikeouts per game and compiling an 8-2 record in nine starts and 12 total appearances. Wyse worked to a 2.87 ERA and struck out 68 batters in 53.2 innings.

Quezada is making her second straight appearance on an All-Conference Team, being voted to the Third Team in 2016. The senior short stop appeared in all 18 NECC matchups while hitting .348 with 15 RBI, 21 runs scored, and eight steals.

Henderson exploded onto the scene in her first season in a Lynx uniform as she hit .481 with six home runs, 19 RBI, 26 runs scored, and nine doubles. The rookie tied the program single-season home run record when she blasted her ninth in the Semifinals of the NECC Tournament.
