Wyse Earns NECC Pitcher of the Week Nod

ATTLEBORO, Mass. -- Lesley University sophomore Kaera Wyse (Reading, Mass.) has been named New England Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week. NECC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Rebecca Mullen made the announcement today in the Weekly Report.

Wyse earned a pair of wins on the week while tossing the first no-hitter of her career on Saturday – the first for the Lynx since the 2014 season. In her final 17 innings pitched on the week, Wyse limited opponents to just five total hits.

NECC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Kaera Wyse, Lesley (So., P, Reading, Mass.) - Wyse threw a complete-game, five inning no-hitter - the first of her career- in a win over Daniel Webster on Saturday. The sophomore struck out eight eagles and walked just two in the effort. The righty also blanked Utica over five innings of work in a 1-0 win for the Lynx on Thursday. She limited the Pioneers to just one hit while striking out three to earn the win. In four starts and a relief appearance on the week, Wyse worked to a 2-2 record and a minuscule 1.77 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 23 2/3 innings pitched.
