    ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The New England Collegiate Conference released their Fall 2008 NECC Academic All-Conference award winners and Lesley is proud to announce that nine fall athletes were on the list. Juniors and seniors who held a grade point average of 3.40 or higher on a 4.0 scale were recognized.

    NASHUA, N.H. – Lesley University women’s soccer senior Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) was selected by the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) to play in the 2008 Senior Bowl. The NEWISA Senior Bowl, an all-star game showcasing the best Division I, II, and III talent from all the New England Region.

    CHICOPEE, Mass. – In a match up of the top two seeds in the New England Collegiate Conference, Elms College defeated Lesley University in the fifth round of penalty kicks to take the inaugural NECC Women’s Soccer Championship. The two teams tied at 1-1 through regulation and two overtimes, but the Blazers would prevail 4-3 in the shootout.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University women’s soccer team defeated Becker College 3-0 to advance to the New England Collegiate Conference title match. The Lynx will face the winner of the other semifinal match played between Daniel Webster and Elms College later this evening. Becker ends their 2008 campaign with a 7-10-1 (5-2-1 NECC) record after reaching the conference semifinals.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University hosted their final regular season home contest on Thursday evening, but lost to Lasell College 1-0 in a hard-fought match from both teams. Lasell improves their record to 8-4-2 (6-3-2 GNAC) and Lesley drops to 15-2-1 (7-0-0 NECC). Following the end of the game, the Lynx honored four-year starter Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) with Senior Night activities.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University hosted Newbury College in a match up of New England Collegiate Conference women’s soccer teams and defeated the Nighthawks 5-1. The Lynx improved to 15-1-1 (7-0-0 NECC) while the Nighthawks dropped to 1-14 (0-6 NECC). Fifteen wins for Lesley breaks a single season program record in victories.

    LONGMEADOW, Mass.—For the first 85 minutes of New England Collegiate Conference women’s soccer action, the Wildcats of Bay Path were able to hold off conference leaders the Lynx of Lesley. Despite the tough defensive stance the Wildcats held, the Lynx were finally able to score in the 86th minute winning the hard fought match 1-0.
