Four Lynx ballers score in 5-0 rout of Wheelock

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Both Lesley University and Wheelock College fought through the occasional downpour during Sunday's women's soccer match, but the Lynx were able to score five goals to improve to 3-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference standings.  Overall the Lynx are 8-0-1 (3-0-0 NECC) and Wheelock drops to 2-4-1 (1-1-1 NECC).

Four different Lesley players found the back of the net including Tracy Potter (Acton, Mass.) who scored her first goal of the season late in the first half.  Potter launched a deep shot from nearly 30 yards away that sailed just over the fingertips of Wildcats keeper Nicole Zina (Bristol, R.I.) and into the goal.

The first goal of the game was scored in the 8th minute when Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) scored her 16th goal of the season to give Lesley the early advantage.

Less than two minutes later, Fralick would hook up with her sister Jenna Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) after crossing the ball into the goalie box.  For Jenna, it was her sixth goal of the season.

Jenna would later tally another goal in the second half as teammate Cathryn Folkestad (Ipswich, Mass.) provided a long lead pass that thread the defense for an assist.

Senior captain Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) would be responsible for a goal in the game as the midfielder would make contact with a ball that was incidentally knocked in by a Wheelock defender.

For Wheelock, Zina would make six saves on the game.

Lesley's next game will be on Tuesday September 30 at Mount Holyoke College at 6:30 pm.  Wheelock will face Mitchell College on the same day at 4:00 pm.
