Lesley defeats SVC 4-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University women's soccer team defeated Southern Vermont College 4-0 on Saturday morning and in the process improved to 4-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference.  Southern Vermont dropped to 0-4 after the loss.

Lesley scored their first goal towards the end of the first half at 42:20 on an unassisted goal by Audrey Champeau (Paris, France).  For Champeau, it was her first score of the season.

The Lynx took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but in the second half Lesley was able to score three goals on the Mountaineers. 

At 48:16, Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) found the back of the net to put Lesley up 2-0.  Emma Fogg (Wellesley, Mass.) and Bridget Rundquist (Chicago, Ill.) set up the goal and each earned an assist.  Cathryn Folkestad (Ipswich, Mass.) scored from the top of the box at 56:00 as Dory LeCount earned second assist of the season.

Finally, with just a few seconds remaining, freshman Hannah Chetkowski (Fitchburg, Mass.) netted her first goal of the season, unassisted to cap off the scoring. 

Southern Vermont goalkeeper Jillian Neudecker (Johnsonville, N.Y.) was able to stop 18 shots on goal from the Lynx.  It was her ninth straight game with double-digit saves for the Mountaineers.

Lesley will be back in action on October 5 at Mount Ida College for a 12:00 pm match.  Southern Vermont will travel to Elms College on October 8 for a 4:00 pm NECC contest.
