• Tennis goes deep in NECC Championship tourney

    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Mitchell College Mariners (left) continued their successful 2009 campaign today at the inaugural New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men’s Tennis Championship. Team members claimed victories in six of the nine total flights played on the day, two of three in doubles action and four of six in singles play.

    ATTLEBORO, Mass.—The Mariners of Mitchell College grabbed the first-ever New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men’s tennis championship title for the 2009 season. The Mariners (11-0 overall) claimed the top spot after posting a perfect 8-0 NECC record in conference play.

    ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The New England Collegiate Conference handed out its first weekly awards and Lesley University men's tennis freshman David Newton earned Rookie of the Week honors. Newton was solid this weekend in both his singles and doubles matches against Mitchell College and Becker College.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University men’s tennis team matched up against Mitchell College and Becker College over the weekend and ended up with a 1-1 (1-1 NECC) record. The Lynx were beat by Mitchell 9-0 on the road Saturday and rebounded nicely against Becker with a 6-3 triumph.
