The men’s basketball team defeated Husson College 63-55 in the semifinals to earn the right to face Elms College on Saturday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. in Chicopee.

The women lost 67-51 and dropped their record to 10-11 (4-6 North Atlantic Conference) while the men improved to 7-15 (5-5 NAC) with final moments 60-59 victory over Husson.

    Boston, Mass. – Senior center Rob Scarpato (Hopkington, Mass.) netted 18 points and came up with a big block late in the game to lead the Framingham State College men’s basketball team over Lesley University, 73-71, to capture the 23rd Annual Hampton Inn Harbor Invitational today at the Clark Athletic Center on the UMass Boston campus. The tournament was hosted by University of Massachusetts Boston. The Rams win the tournament for the second straight year and improve to 3-2 on the season, while the Lynx fall to 2-3.

    Boston, Mass. – The Lesley University men’s basketball team came erased a 12-point deficit in the final 11 minutes of play, led by a game-high 33 points from senior guard Joseph Chapman, to defeat host University of Massachusetts Boston, 87-80, in the first round of the 23rd Annual Hampton Inn Harbor Invitational tonight at the Clark Athletic Center on the UMass Boston campus. The Beacons fall to 0-2 on the season, while the Lynx improve to 2-2. Lesley will play in tomorrow’s 3:00 p.m. championship game vs. Framingham State College, which was an 82-66 winner over University of Maine at Fort Kent. UMB will take on the Bengals in the 1:00 p.m. consolation contest.
