Chargers solid down the stretch to beat Lynx 93-70

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University men's basketball team lost to Colby-Sawyer College 93-70, dropping their record to 2-4 (0-0 NAC) while Colby-Sawyer improved to 3-2 (0-0 TCCC).

Joe Chatman (Boston, Mass.) led the way for the Lynx scoring 20 points hitting 8 of 12 shots from the field.  Chatman also dished out six assists.  Talented rookie Jesus Trejo (Methuen, Mass.) continued his early season success going for 18 points and 13 rebounds.  Senior guard Mark Stevens (Las Vegas, Nev.) was the only other Lesley player to tally double-digit points as he finished with 13.

Colby-Sawyer had an impressive performance from junior Duncan Szeliga (Newmarket, N.H.) as he scored a game high 28 points, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc.  Three other Colby-Sawyer players scored in double-figures including Ryan Murray (Killingworth, Conn.), David Rosso (Wilmington, Vt.), and Andrew Cousins (South Portland, Me.) who scored 16, 15, and 14 points respectively.  Murray completed the double-double as he grabbed 16 boards, 10 defensive.

The Lynx kept it close for much for the game, evening the score with ten minutes to play in the second half, but the Chargers were able to play solid defense and hit crucial three-pointers down the stretch.  With less than ten minutes to play in the second half, a hard intentional foul on a fast break from Lynx sophomore Matt Grassa (Everett, Mass.) gave the Chargers two free throws and the ball.  With the momentum shifting in Colby-Sawyer's favor, the Chargers took the lead for good.

Colby-Sawyer will next play Castleton State at home on December 4, while the Lesley will travel to Curry College on December 5.
