    PROVIDENCE, R.I. – In their first ever trip to the NCAA DIII Softball Regionals, the Lesley University softball team came within six outs of a victory against Wellesley College. The Lynx lost to the Blue 3-2 and will look to get back on track on Friday against Rivier College.

    BANGOR, Me. – On day one of the North Atlantic Conference softball championships, Lesley University defeated Thomas College but fell to UMaine-Farmington to advance to the second day of play.     CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In a North Atlantic Conference Quarterfinal match up between Lesley University and Bay Path College, the Lynx overcame early struggles to defeat the Wildcats 12-4 in six innings. The victory helped Lesley advance to the NAC Championships to be played starting this Friday, May 2.

    FARMINGTON, Me. – Following a split with UMaine-Farmington on Sunday, the Lesley University softball team finished the regular season in a three-way tie for first place in the North Atlantic Conference. It was the first time in the program’s history that the Lynx have ever had a taste of the NAC regular season title as they finished with a 25-9 (17-3 NAC) record.

    WATERVILLE, Me. – The Lesley University softball team swept Thomas College in a doubleheader on Saturday and took over first place in the North Atlantic Conference with a record of 24-8 (16-2 NAC). With the two losses, the Terriers dropped to 18-11 (15-3 NAC) and fell to third place in the conference.

    LEICESTER, Mass. – The softball team won their tenth straight game after sweeping Becker College 9-1, 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon. The Lynx improved to 22-8 (14-2 North Atlantic Conference) and are now in second place in the conference. Becker dropped to 6-18 (2-14 NAC).

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In a North Atlantic Conference double-header match up with Maine Maritime Academy, the Lesley University softball team swept the Mariners in both games to move to 6-0 in the conference. Lesley won the games 8-0 and 9-4. With the victories Lesley improved to 12-6 (6-0 NAC) while Maine Maritime Academy dropped their record to 6-6 (4-6 NAC).

    FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Lesley University softball team finished off their spring training trip by splitting the day’s games between Skidmore College and Finlandia Univesrity. In the first game of the day against Skidmore, the Lynx were victorious 12-2 while in the second game, Finlandia edged Lesley 3-2 in a tough pitchers duel.

In the second game of the day, Lesley fell to an impressive Wheaton College (MA) team 14-4. With today’s contests, the Lynx currently stands at 1-5 to start the 2008 season.

    FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Lesley University softball team kicked off their 2008 season in Fort Myers, FL with a double-header against Renssselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and Pine Manor College. The Lynx were able to jump to early 2-0 leads, but ultimately lost both games to fall to 0-2 in the early season.
