    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Looking for a change from the typical gym routine that he had been doing in the past, Lesley men’s soccer goalie Nigel Leahy (NEW PALTZ, N.Y./New Paltz) adopted a new workout style that has transformed his off-season soccer preparations. He hopes that his hard work in the offseason will translate to even further success for the Lynx who reached the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament for the first time in program history this past fall.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Head Men's Soccer Coach Paul Vasconcelos has announced the three team captains for the 2010 season. Senior midfielder Tyler Reeves (COVENTRY, Conn./Coventry), senior defender Stephen Siragusa (VALLEY STREAM, N.Y./Valley Stream) will join senior goalkeeper Zachary Almeida-Beers (REHOBOTH, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth Regional) as the leaders of the Lynx.

    ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) honored fall student-athletes who met the 3.40 GPA minimum standard and who were either of sophomore, junior, or senior class status. Sixteen of the 153 student-athletes were from Lesley University.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Eastern Massachusetts High School Soccer Coaches Association has selected Lesley University head men’s and women’s soccer coach Paul Vasconcelos as their College Coach of the Year and will be honored at the EMASS High School All-Star Banquet on January 31 in Quincy, Massachusetts.
  • Ari Sinanis named Second Team ECAC New England All-Star

    CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Freshman Ari Sinanis (GUILFORD, Conn./Guilford) stormed onto the New England collegiate soccer scene this past fall and led the Lynx to an appearance in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Quarterfinals. For his efforts this season, the ECAC has recognized Sinanis as a Second Team New England All-Star.

    Nashua – Rookie Joel Jerrhag’s (Ystad, Sweden) redirected header off an Alex Jackson (Kent, Ohio) free kick with just 50 seconds remaining in overtime delivered the Daniel Webster College men’s soccer team its first ever conference championship as the top-seeded Eagles upended second-seeded Lesley University 2-1 Sunday before nearly 350 sun-splashed patrons at Eagle Field for the New England Collegiate Conference title.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University (15-3-2, 5-1-1 NECC) men’s soccer team defeated Newbury College (6-14, 5-2 NECC) 1-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Semifinals to reach to the championship match for the second consecutive season. Ari Sinanis (GUILFORD, Conn./Guilford) scored the match’s lone goal to lift the Lynx to victory.

    NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Mitchell College men’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 conference match-up to Lesley University on Saturday afternoon. Lesley (12-3-2 overall, 4-1-1 NECC) scored the game’s only goal in the 60th minute off a set play on a corner kick. Ari Sinanis (Guilford, Conn.) took the corner and served a ball to the far post, where Stephen Siragusa (Valley Stream, N.Y.) finished it off with a header into the back of the net.

    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Newbury College mens soccer team upset visiting Lesley University today in a thrilling overtime 2-1 victory on a rain-soaked field in Chestnut Hill, MA. Andi Maska (Roslindale, MA/English) led his squad with an assist in the first half and the game-winner just over three minutes into the overtime period.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In a rematch of last season’s New England Collegiate Conference Championship match, the Lesley University men’s soccer team (10-2-2) defeated Becker College (2-11-1) 3-2 thanks to a game-winning goal in the 104th minute by Lynx freshman Ari Sinanis (GUILFORD, Conn./Guilford).

    DUDLEY, Mass. – The Lesley University men’s soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to six games with a 4-2 victory at Nichols Thursday afternoon. The Lynx (9-2-2) were led by a goal and an assist from junior midfielder Tyler Reeves (Coventry, Conn./Coventry). First year Scott Coderre (Thompson, Conn.) scored both goals for the Bison (7-5).

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A second half goal by Darius Koep (PITTSTOWN, N.J./Del-Val) lifted the Lesley University men’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Suffolk University on Tuesday evening and in the process improved their season record to 8-2-2 (1-0-1 NECC). The Rams dropped to 4-3-2 (1-0-2 GNAC) following the loss.

The Lynx moved their record to 7-2-2 (1-0-1 NECC) while the Mountaineers are now 8-2-1 (2-0-1 NECC).

    ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Six Student-athletes across four different sports earned New England Collegiate Conference Player or Rookie of the Week honors today. Most notably on the list is freshman women's soccer player Kate Ryder, who helped lead the Lynx to a 2-1 record last week.

Lesley is now 7-2-1 (1-0 NECC) and will go for a record eighth win this Saturday at Southern Vermont College.

The Lynx improved to 6-2-1 (1-0 NECC) while the Blazers dropped to 2-6 (1-1 NECC).
  • Lynx score two 2nd half goals to take Charles River Cup

    BOSTON, Mass. - The Lesley University men's soccer team scored two goals in the first five minutes then got two more tallies late in the second half to take the Charles River Cup from Emerson College by a score of 4-2 at Emerson's Rotch Field Wednesday evening.

    OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The Lesley University men’s soccer team fell to SUNY at Old Westbury 2-1 this past Saturday and dropped their 2009 record to 4-2-1. Lesley’s record remains above .500 which is the latest in a season that a Lynx men’s soccer team has held that mark.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University men’s soccer team faced off against a talented Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Gordon College squad and lost to the Fighting Scots 3-0 after giving up all three tallies in the second stanza. The Lynx suffered their first loss and move to 3-1-1 while Gordon improved to 2-3 (1-0 TCCC).
