DUDLEY, Mass. - The Lesley University men's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to six games with a 4-2 victory at Nichols Thursday afternoon. The Lynx (9-2-2) were led by a goal and an assist from junior midfielder Tyler Reeves (Coventry, Conn./Coventry).  First year Scott Coderre (Thompson, Conn.) scored both goals for the Bison (7-5).

The Lynx held a 2-0 lead within the first five minutes of the game, scoring on their first two shots of the game. Woody Davidson (Keesville, N.Y./AuSable Valley Central) fired high from the right side in the third minute, and the ball ricocheted off the crossbar and left post before sneaking past Nichols first year netminder Michael Pitts (Shoreham, N.Y.), who was making his first career start.

Just over a minute and a half later, Reeves passed ahead to Ari Sinanis (Guilford, Conn./Guilford), who crossed the ball into the lower left side of the net from the right side of the box for the two-goal advantage.

Coderre cut Lesley's lead in half in the 13th minute on a set-up from junior Michael Schell (South Windsor, Conn.), who faked the goalkeeper before passing across a defender to Coderre to fire it home.

Yair Correa (Pawtucket, R.I./St. Raphael Academy) set up Joseph Petit (Salem, Mass./Salem) in the 31st minute, and much in the same fashion as the Lynx second goal, Petit placed the ball in the left corner from the right side for a 3-1 lead headed into halftime.

Schell and Coderre wasted little time in the second half to bring the Bison back within one, as Coderre tallied his second of the afternoon less than three minutes into the frame, again from Schell.

Sophomore goalkeeper Brendan Hamilton (No. Attleboro, Mass.) made two saves in the second half for the Bison to keep the game within reach, but Reeves got his head on a loose ball in the 80th minute to put the visitors up, 4-2.

Max Perkins (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) earned his first win of the season with eight saves in the first half.  Nigel Leahy (New Paltz, N.Y./New Paltz) was solid in his first appearance of the season by making two saves and allowing an early second half goal.  Pitts made three saves in the opening half, taking the loss in his first career start.

Nichols resumes The Commonwealth Coast Conference action Saturday in a noon home game against Anna Maria.  Lesley hosts Becker in a rematch of the 2008 New England Collegiate Conference Championship on Saturday for a 3 p.m. start.
