Al Green named John Micelin 55 Alive Award winnerMay 11, 2010CAMBRIDGE, Mass. The Flag Football executive committee announced the winner of this years John Micelin 55 Alive Award and $550 scholarship award, with the honor going to Alexander Green III from the mens basketball team. The award is presented to a graduating senior student-athlete who represents the upstanding qualities that former mens basketball player John Micelin exemplified before his tragic death in 2007.

Trejo becomes first Lynx player to reach 1,000 pointsFebruary 27, 2010CAMBRIDGE, Mass. A much improved Lesley University mens basketball team reached the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Semifinals this season thanks in large part to the consistent play in the low-post by big man Jesus Trejo (METHUEN, Mass./Methuen). In that semifinal game against Becker College Trejo reached the 1,000 career points plateau, a feat never before accomplished by a Lynx mens basketball player.

The Southern Vermont College mens basketball team put on yet another show, as it won its third game in a row blocking the visiting New England Collegiate Conference Lynx of Lesley University from victory in overtime 66-58 in the Field House Thursday night. The win gives SVC a sure spot in the NECC playoffs next week as it set a team record for blocks in a game with 15. It was senior day as the crowd cheered for forward Joe Karnik and guard Chris Holland, who played their last regular season game in the Field House.
