    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – In their first ever appearance in the Division III Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Softball Championships, the Lesley University Lynx fought hard through seven innings against Western New England College but were defeated 2-0. Lesley finishes their 2009 campaign with a 27-14 mark which is just three wins off their record setting total in 2008.

    CENTERVILLE, Mass. - After finishing the season with a 25-15 record, Brandeis was selected as the number one seed in the 2009 ECAC DIVISION III New England Softball Championship. The tournament is an eight-team field with a quarterfinal round followed by a double-elimination format for the remaining four teams.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Lesley University softball team swept all three games they played on Sunday to win the inaugural 2009 New England Collegiate Conference Softball Championship. The title marks the second conference championship in a row that the Lynx have won as they defeated Mitchell College in the finals.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The inaugural 2009 New England Collegiate Conference Softball Championships held day one of the conference playoffs on the campus of UMass-Boston on Saturday, May 2. The top two seeds of the tournament, Lesley University and Elms College, were upset on day one but Lesley won their second game to stave off elimination while Elms got swept for an early tournament exit.

The Lynx (23-10 overall) earned the top spot in the upcoming NECC tournament after posting a 15-1 conference record.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University softball team captured the regular season title in the inaugural season of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) after sweeping Wheelock College in double header action on Sunday. With conference play over, the Lynx improved to 23-10 (13-1 NECC) while Wheelock dropped to 7-20 (7-9 NECC) and will wait to find out their current standing with playoffs approaching.

    LONGMEADOW, Mass. - Lesley holds onto the top spot in the conference sweeping Bay Path in a New England Collegiate Conference softball double header. Both games finished with a final score of 9-1. Lesley was led by junior catcher Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) with a two-game .833 batting average (5-for-6) and four runs. Jodi Fralick chipped in her first homer on the season along with 4 RBI and two doubles for the Lynx.

    NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Lesley University softball team came from behind in the fifth inning of game one and mercy-ruled Mitchell College in game two to sweep the Mariners in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play. The Lynx improved to 19-10 (11-1 NECC) on the season as they took a firmer hold on first place in the conference.

    WELLESLEY, Mass. – Nearly a year ago, the Lesley University and Wellesley College softball teams met at the NCAA Regional Tournament down in Providence, Rhode Island with the Blue defeating the Lynx 3-2. These two teams met up again on Friday afternoon and split a double header with Lesley taking game one 3-2 and Wellesley winning game two 6-1.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In a match of two of the top teams in the New England Collegiate Conference, the Lesley University Lynx and Elms College Blazers softball teams split a double header in two competitive games. The Lynx moved their 2009 record to 14-9 (7-1 NECC) while suffering their first loss in-conference while the Blazers finished the day at 11-10 (8-2 NECC).

    MARCO ISLAND, Fla. – The Lesley University softball team had a memorable 2008 season. The team became conference champions to qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the first time and several players earned conference and regional accolades for their tremendous play. But, lost in shuffle of all these achievements was a coaching milestone from Head Coach Jen Benway who earned her 100th career victory in the North Atlantic Conference Championship game.
