CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Lesley University men’s basketball battled hard against Elms College in the North Atlantic Conference men’s basketball championship but lost to the Blazers 72-65. It was the first time any Lesley varsity team had reached a conference championship.

Lynx 63, Eagles 55; Lesley to face Elms for NAC Title
CHICOPEE, Mass. – For the first time in school history, a Lesley University team will have the opportunity to win a North Atlantic Conference Championship. The men’s basketball team defeated Husson College 63-55 in the semifinals to earn the right to face Elms College on Saturday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. in Chicopee.

FARMINGTON, Me. – With home court advantage at stake going into the first round of the North Atlantic Conference playoffs, the Lesley University men’s basketball defeated UMaine-Farmington 64-57. The victory capped off a tremendous 4-0 run against conference opponents to earn the right to host the first round match up.

WATERVILLE, Me. – In the first of two crucial North Atlantic Conference games to close out the regular season, the Lesley University men’s basketball team defeated Thomas College 87-81 in overtime. The victory improved Lesley’s record to 9-15 (7-5 NAC) while the Terriers dropped to 9-16 (2-11 NAC).

Stevens' late three buries Eagles; women take a loss
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams were in action on Friday night against Husson College, but only the men were able to walk away from a victory against the Eagles. The women lost 67-51 and dropped their record to 10-11 (4-6 North Atlantic Conference) while the men improved to 7-15 (5-5 NAC) with final moments 60-59 victory over Husson.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In a match up with the team with the best record in the North Atlantic Conference, the Lesley University men’s basketball squad lost 83-58 to Elms College. With the loss, the Lynx dropped to 6-15 (4-5 NAC) while the Blazers improved to 15-6 (8-2 NAC).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University played a North Atlantic Conference double-header with Thomas College on Saturday afternoon and split the series with the Terriers. The men defeated Thomas 71-34 while the women lost 79-62.

Beavers deny late comeback attempt by Lynx
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – UMaine-Farmington’s Matt St. John (Wayne, Me.) passed 1,000 points for his collegiate career and scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Beavers over the Lynx 82-75 on Friday evening. With the loss, Lesley dropped their record to 5-14 (3-4 North Atlantic Conference) while Farmington improved their record to 9-11 (5-4 NAC).

SALEM, Mass. – The Lesley University men’s basketball team visited a highly touted Salem State College team on Tuesday night and ended up on the losing end of a 97-72 score. With the loss, the Lynx dropped to 5-13 (3-3 North Atlantic Conference) while the Vikings improved to 14-5 (4-2 MASCAC).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University men’s basketball team made a heroic comeback in the second half of their game against Newbury College, but eventually lost in the final seconds 75-74. The loss drops Lesley’s record to 5-12 (3-3 North Atlantic Conference). Newbury improved to 9-6 on the season.

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Mark Stevens (Las Vegas, Nev.) scored 28 points against Wheelock College to help stop a five-game losing streak for the Lesley University men’s basketball team. With the 77-62 victory over the Wildcats, the Lynx improved their record to 4-10 (2-2 North Atlantic Conference). Wheelock drops their record to 1-15 (0-5 NAC).

Lynx fall to Framingham State by two points in championship
Boston, Mass. – Senior center Rob Scarpato (Hopkington, Mass.) netted 18 points and came up with a big block late in the game to lead the Framingham State College men’s basketball team over Lesley University, 73-71, to capture the 23rd Annual Hampton Inn Harbor Invitational today at the Clark Athletic Center on the UMass Boston campus. The tournament was hosted by University of Massachusetts Boston. The Rams win the tournament for the second straight year and improve to 3-2 on the season, while the Lynx fall to 2-3.

Lynx come from behind to beat UMB
Boston, Mass. – The Lesley University men’s basketball team came erased a 12-point deficit in the final 11 minutes of play, led by a game-high 33 points from senior guard Joseph Chapman, to defeat host University of Massachusetts Boston, 87-80, in the first round of the 23rd Annual Hampton Inn Harbor Invitational tonight at the Clark Athletic Center on the UMass Boston campus. The Beacons fall to 0-2 on the season, while the Lynx improve to 2-2. Lesley will play in tomorrow’s 3:00 p.m. championship game vs. Framingham State College, which was an 82-66 winner over University of Maine at Fort Kent. UMB will take on the Bengals in the 1:00 p.m. consolation contest.
