  • Women's teams win third straight NECC Champions Cup

    For a third consecutive year, Lesley University's women's athletics teams captured the NECC's Champion's Cup, the league's sport-wide winnings leader board. Three of Lesley's six women's teams won NECC titles, with two more making the NECC championship game.

  • Lesley sends 24 students to NECC All-Academic Team

    A total of 24 Lesley men's and women's fall student-athletes from four Lynx teams have been named to the New England Collegiate Conference Academic All-Conference Team, the league announced. Lesley women's soccer, women's cross country and women's volleyball teams all led or tied for the conference lead in representatives from their respective sports.

    In what head coach Paul Vasconcelos called "the cherry on top" for Lesley senior Alyson Durben's stellar career, the midfielder has been selected for the NEWISA Senior Bowl, New England's only all-star game that combines the top collegiate seniors from all three NCAA divisions.

    Lesley University is among one of 129 programs nationally to have both its women's and men's soccer programs recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with the NSCAA Team Academic Awards based on the teams' grade point averages for the 2009-10 school year.

    Fourth-year head coach Paul Vasconcelos was named 2010 Women's Soccer Coach of the Year, the league announced this afternoon. Represented on All-NECC First Team was senior Alyson Durben and sophomore Jamie Coyne.

    Lesley fell to Mitchell College, 2-1, Saturday evening in the New England Collegiate Conference Championship. All-tournament team selection Jackee Sanchez scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season and second of the postseason for the Lynx.

    The Lynx earned a trip back to the New England Collegiate Conference Championship by coming back to beat Daniel Webster in penalty kicks Thursday night. Veronica Halen assisted Jackee Sanchez on Lesley's only goal, and then in penalty kicks, Halen's goal preceded Sanchez's deciding goal (pictured), with Lesley winning the shootout 3-2.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University women’s soccer program announced its 2010 fall schedule today which includes a full slates of 20 NCAA matches. Along with their New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) schedule, the Lynx will expand their non-conference competition nationwide with matches against teams from Wisconsin, New York, and Illinois.
