WINTER HAVEN, FL -- Lesley led 2-1 after four innings, but New Jersey City University rallied for nine runs in the sixth for a 12-2 victory Tuesday morning at Chain of Lakes Park.

Both of Lesley's runs came without the benefit of a hit. Shortstop Aqib Shah led off the game with a walk, took two bases on a pair of errors on a pickoff throw and came around to score on a wild pitch. NJCU's Alex Weinstein tied the game in the bottom of the first with a sacrifice fly to Lynx center fielder Robert Parson, but Lesley answered in the top of the second.

Lynx designated hitter Andrew Colon led off the inning with a walk, and after the Gothic Knights walked the bases loaded, right fielder Tyler Plourd drew a base on balls to score Colon.

Behind freshman Ray Cohen, making his first career start, the Lynx held the narrow lead until the fifth. Andrew Rivera knocked another RBI sac fly to Parson to tie the game at 2-2, and Weinstein doubled to the corner in left to give the Gothic Knights a 3-2 lead it would add on to heavily an inning later.

A collision at first base scored a run to make it a 4-2 game, and another run scored on a throw in the dirt from second baseman Adam Ciampi that Patrick Melo couldn't handle at first base. An infield hit on a diving snag by Ciampi scored another run, and NJCU went on to score a combined nine runs off Cohen and reliever Joseph Santos in extending its lead to 12-2.

Cohen threw 5 and 2/3 innings in his Lynx debut and was charged with eight runs -- only three earned -- on three hits and two strikeouts.

Zack Markle threw six shutout innings of two-hit relief for the win, walking one and striking out none.

Shah walked twice and scored atop coach Mike Rocco's lineup, and Colon went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.

Lesley returns to play tomorrow at 4 p.m. against Hamilton College.
