Dear Division III: Maddy Duskocy

Dear Division III: Maddy Duskocy

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - This week marks the start of the 15th anniversary of NCAA Division III's "Division III Week." This week runs from April 7 through April 13 and along with the many events going on across campus this week, we asked Lesley University student-athletes to write a letter to Division III and what it means to them being a Division III student-athlete and what the Division III level and sport has given each student-athlete. Throughout the week, make sure to check back to lesleyathletics.com to see new letters by Lynx student-athletes. Continuing our week of Dear DIII Week letters, is Maddy Duskocy (Ellington, Conn.)

Duskocy tied her career-high in games played (14) and started in four during the 2024 campaign. In her four starts with Lesley, the Lynx were 3-1-0. Duskocy was also on the pitch for four of the Lynx's five shutouts this season. In her career, she has played in 31 contests and started in 10 of them. Duskocy is also a NAC All-Academic team honoree and was also named the 2023 Lesley Women's Soccer Lynx Award recipient. Below is her letter to Division III:

Dear Division III,

I write to you with gratitude and appreciation for all that you have given me. Your program is more than just about the sport, it's about all the little gifts that come with it. The gift of the opportunity to pursue various passions, take charge of individual development, and cultivate a strong sense of self-discipline. Additionally, your athletes are there by choice, fueled by their genuine love for the game, driving their teams and the program with pure passion. Behind the skills and discipline gained, I am most grateful for the incredible friendships I have formed. Your program has enabled me to form friendships with people from all over the country, with whom I've shared countless bus concerts, food stops, and, most importantly, lasting experiences.

So thank you for the little gifts you have bestowed, as they have forged me into a stronger person.

Sincerely,

Maddy Duskocy
