
LEXINGTON, Mass. – Lesley University women's soccer won their record fifth-straight title in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship finals at Minuteman High School in Lexington, Massachusetts, topping the second seeded New England College, 2-0. They bested their previous record of four straight titles from 2012-2015.
The game remained scoreless into the 56th minute, when Lesley junior Haile Carrillo-Hayes finally broke the stalemate, putting Lesley up 1-0. Sophomore Abby Kalou would add an insurance goal in the 78th minute. Carillo-Hayes earned Tournament MVP for her game-winning goal.
NEC goalkeeper Stephanie Bronowicki showed why she was voted NECC Rookie of the Year, holding the leagues most potent offense to two goals, making 12 saves on the day. The Lynx outshot the Pilgrims, 29-1.
Lesley has earned an automatic qualification into the NCAA Tournament and will find out their NCAA match-up during the Women's Soccer selection show on Monday, November 7.
