WALTHAM, MA - What was a 1-0 deficit through the first 23:00 turned into a 3-0 hole at halftime, snowballing into a 10-0 Brandeis victory over Lesley on Tuesday afternoon at Gordon Field.
The Judges (12-3-1), ranked No. 26 in the most recent NSCAA Division III Rankings released today, got on the board at 10:34 on the first of Sofia Vallone's three goals. Madeline Stein scored at 23:09 on a pass through the box from Mimi Theodore, who at 25:55 assisted on Vallone's second strike to make it 3-0 Brandeis.
Through halftime, Lesley (10-5-2) was outshot 13-6, earning the contest's only corner kick.
The Judges, though, were just getting started, as Vallone returned the favor to Theodore at 52:04. Stein scored her second of the day and third of the year at 58:03, and, leading 7-0 after two more goals, Vallone notched her 15th of the season at 82:15.
Finally, Taryn Martiniello scored her first two goals of the season in the last 5:00, to finish off the 10-0 triumph.
Emma Fogg and Veronica Halen each notched two shots for the Lynx, which were outshot 27-10 on the day.
Lesley freshman Victoria Ellis took over for Corrine Dasti in the final 24:00, with each making a game-high five saves.
With their six-game winning streak now history, the Lynx look to get back to their winning ways on Saturday. They take on NECC foe Newbury on the campus of Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, MA.
