LONGMEADOW, MA -- Freshman Veronica Halen found the back of the net with 28 second left, scoring at 89:32 in Lesley's 2-0 win at Elms on Saturday. Tuesday afternoon at Bay Path, she picked up right where she left off.

The first-year midfielder waited but 38 seconds this time, putting the Lynx on the board early in a day on which her team would score often in its 7-1 thumping of Bay Path.

Halen scored two goals on the day, as did sophomore midfielder Kate Ryder, who followed Halen's early tally up with a goal at 3:15 off a Halen corner kick. Bay Path deflected a ball into its own net at 8:44 to make it a 3-0 game, and that is the way it would stand until halftime.

Lesley outshot 13-5 in the first period and earned a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks, but things got even worse for the Wildcats in the second half. 

Chelsea Contre upped Lesley's lead to 4-0 five minutes into the period, and the Lynx made it 5-0 almost 10 minutes later with Halen's second goal of the day at 59:51.

Bay Path answered just 14 seconds later on Keelin Doughery's first goal of 2010, but it was too little, too late.

Ryder soon answered with her second of the day, this at 63:17, and the Lynx tacked on a Decareau score in the 89th minute to wrap up the 7-1 final.

Alyson Durben added an assist on Ryder's second half goal, and Jenna Fralick contributed a cross that set up Decareau's goal.

Lesley goalkeeper Corrine Dasti made four saves in a scoreless first half and was relieved by Victoria Ellis, who saved one and allowed a goal for the first time in four games on her freshman campaign.

Now 6-4-2 and 2-0-1 in New England Collegiate Conference play, the Lynx play host to Wheelock on Saturday morning at 10:00.
