CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seniors Cathryn Folkestad
(IPSWICH, Mass./Ipswich) and Jodi Fralick (WOBURN,
Mass./Woburn) have been chosen to play in the New England
Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior
Bowl, a final day of competition for some of the best senior
women’s soccer players from across all divisions of the
NCAA.
The match will be played on Sunday, December 6 at 12:00 pm at
Rivier College’s brand new turf field.
Folkestad captained the backfield for the Lynx for four years and
contributed greatly on the offensive end as well. Folkestad tallied
14 points, five goals and four assists, in her senior season. For
her career, the defender compiled 17 goals and 14 assists and her
backfield allowed 1.6 goals per game. In her final three seasons, a
much improved Lesley squad allowed just 0.9 goals per game.
Fralick finishes her Lesley soccer career as the greatest goal
scorer the program has ever seen. On Senior Day against Bay Path
College Fralick scored her 100th career goal, a feat accomplished
by only 14 other NCAA Division III women’s soccer players.
For her career, the forward compiled 103 goals and 24 assists for a
total of 230 points.
Both Folkestad and Fralick were named to the New England Collegiate
Conference All-Conference First Team this past season with Fralick
taking Player of the Year honors.
