Lynx improve to 7-0 in conference play

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University women's soccer team continued to show the reason why they are atop the New England Collegiate Conference with an impressive 4-0 victory over Newbury College on Wednesday evening.  The Lynx improved to 12-4-1 (7-0 NECC) while the Nighthawks dropped to 4-8-2 (3-4 NECC).

Lesley's senior captain and leading goal scorer Jodi Fralick (WOBURN, Mass./Woburn) took a giant leap towards the 100 career goal milestone with her third hat trick in as many games.  Fralick jumped from 96 career goals to 99 in the shutout victory.  The striker will have the opportunity to reach the milestone achieved by just 13 other players in the history of Division III women's soccer on Senior Day, October 31 at 12:00 pm against Bay Path College. 

Fralick wasted nearly no time putting her team up early as she scored 10 seconds into the game.  With the Lynx players loaded on one side of the field for kickoff, Cathryn Folkestad (IPSWICH, Mass./Ipswich) launched the a pass that Fralick collected and placed past the keeper for the game's first goal. 

In the 16th minute, a touch pass from Kate Ryder (GLASTONBURY, Conn./Mercy) to Fralick accounted for the second goal of the match. 

Later in the half at 28:39, Sarah Levitt (SILVER SPRINGS, Md./James Hubert Blake) netted her third goal of the season, unassisted, to give Lesley a 3-0 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, Fralick finished off the scoring for the day eight minutes into the stanza off an assist from Emma Fogg (WELLESLEY, Mass./Wellesley).

Goalkeeper Hailee Lowe (HAMILTON, Mass./Hamilton-Wenham Regional) made two saves in 90 minutes as the senior improved to 7-3-1 on the season.

The Lynx will host Bay Path College on Saturday, October 31 at noon for their Senior Day celebration.  Newbury travels to Becker College on the same day for their final match of the regular season which will start at 4:00 pm.
