NORTON, Mass. - The Lesley University women's soccer team lost for the first time after reeling off three straight victories following a 2-0 loss to Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts.  The regionally ranked Lyons improved to 10-1 in victory while the Lynx dropped to 7-3-1.

Wheaton received national votes from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and are tied for fourth in the New England region, but Lesley maintained a scoreless game through halftime before giving up a penalty kick goal in the 48th minute.

Lyndsey McManus (MARSHFIELD, Mass./Marshfield) took advantage of a handball in the box at 47:30 by driving her penalty shot attempt to the left of Lynx keeper Hailee Lowe (HAMILTON, Mass./Hamilton-Wenham Regional).

Just over 20 minutes later McManus assisted on the final tally of the match on a free kick, finding teammate Alessia Viscomi (NEWTON, Mass./Newton North) for the score.  McManus and Viscomi combined for 14 of Wheaton's 21 shots.

Lowe made nine saves in net for the Lynx.

Lesley travels to Southern Vermont College on October 3 for their next New England Collegiate Conference match starting at 1:00 pm.
