CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University women's soccer team faced off with former North Atlantic Conference foe UMaine Farmington and defeated the Beavers 3-0 behind three goals in the first ten minutes of the match.  The Lynx improved their 2009 record to 5-2-1 while the Beavers dropped to 2-5 (0-1 NAC).

Lesley's leading scorer Jodi Fralick (WOBURN, Mass./Woburn) kicked off the scoring in the fifth minute of the match after receiving a pass into the goalie box.  Fralick maneuvered around her defender and placed a solid right-footed blast to the back of the net for the first goal of the match.

Three minutes later, the Lynx continued their early offensive assault on the Beaver defense as Jenna Fralick (WOBURN, Mass./Woburn) delivered a shot over the outstretched fingertips of UMaine Farmington keeper McKell Barnes (DURHAM, Maine) from 20 yards out after collecting a touch pass from freshman Kate Ryder (GLASTONBURY, Conn./Mercy).  For Jenna Fralick, it was her fourth goal of the season and for Ryder, it was her first collegiate point.

Jodi Fralick scored her second goal of the game and her team-leading ninth goal of the season at 9:01 by heading in a cross from Alyson Durben (STOW, Mass./Nashoba Regional) that deflected off a Beaver defender.

UMaine Farmington's best opportunity to score came in the second half when Leigh Ronald (FARMINGTON, Maine) attempted to score past Lesley keeper Miranda Matson (GIG HARBOR, Wash./Peninsula) but Matson dove to make the save.

Matson finished with four saves and earned her second win of the season.  Beavers keeper McKell Barnes stopped 12 Lesley shots on goal while allowing three goals.

Lesley will next host Elms College on Sunday, September 27 at 12:00 pm for their first New England Collegiate Conference match-up of the season.  UMaine Farmington travels to Wheelock College on Saturday for a match starting at 1:00 pm.
