Lesley moves to 2-0 in NECC

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In a contest between New England Collegiate Conference opponents, the Lesley University women's soccer team defeated Daniel Webster 4-0 behind three goals from junior Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.).  The Lynx improved to 7-0-1 (2-0-0 NECC) while the Eagles dropped to 3-3-0 (2-1-0 NECC).

Fralick would score her first goal of the game almost 24 minutes into first half as she found the back of the net unassisted.  It was the only goal of the half as the Lynx went into halftime up 1-0.

The Lynx offense broke the game open in the second half after Fralick headed her second goal of the game past Eagles keeper Amy Waller (Berlin, Mass.) off a corner kick from teammate Alyson Durben (Stow, Mass.).

Durben would score Lesley's third goal less than ten minutes later off a cross that deflected off a Daniel Webster defender.  The score was Durben's sixth goal of the season.

In the 68th minute, Fralick completed the hat trick after Waller made a spectacular save on her initial attack.  Fralick now leads the Lynx with 15 goals on the season.

Daniel Webster's best opportunity to score came in the second half when freshman back TC DiSantis (Hinsdale, Mass.) shot the ball from near midfield that ricocheted off the crossbar and into the keeper's hands.

Defensively for the Eagles, Waller gave up four goals but also made nine saves.

Lesley will be off until Saturday, September 27 for a home match against Wheelock College while Daniel Webster will visit Pine Manor College on the same day.
