WENHAM, Mass. - Lesley University's match up with non-conference opponent Gordon College ended in a 1-1 tie after two overtimes could not determine a winner.  Both teams displayed tremendous defensive play throughout the entire 110 minute match.

Gordon struck first in the 20th minute as Fighting Scots midfielder Emily Purinton (Boxborough, Mass.) broke Lesley's scoreless games streak in the 2008 season.  Her goal was set with a well-placed cross by Kelly Donlan (Burlington, Conn.).

The first seemed to be controlled by the Scots as Gordon continued to apply offensive pressure, but could not add any cushion to their 1-0 lead going into halftime.

The Lynx offense finally got going in the second half with ten minutes remaining in the match as last week's NECC Player of the Week Alyson Durben (Stow, Mass.) knotted the score with a long blast.

Two ten-minute overtime periods could not determine a winner as both team's defenses took over.  For the match, Lesley's keeper Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) tallied 10 saves and Gordon's keeper Abby Ytzen (Des Moines, Iowa) made eight of her own.

The Lynx are now 5-0-1 (0-0-0 NECC).

Lesley will travel to Becker College on Saturday, September 20 for a 1:00 pm NECC match while Gordon will face off against New England College on the same day.
