WHITINGHAM, Vt. - The Lesley University women's soccer completed their historic season with many of their players receiving All-Conference selections from the North Atlantic Conference.
Leading scorer for the Lynx, sophomore Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.), won Co-Player of the Year after a season in which she had 22 goals, 6 assists, and 50 points. In conference play, she totaled 6 goals and 3 assists. Fralick also received First Team All-Conference recognition along with junior Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.). Cabral-Pini, a midfielder for Lesley, netted 5 of her 6 total goals in conference play. She also added 5 assists for 17 points.
Freshman striker Lauren Mastellone (Howell, N.J.) finished second behind Fralick for goals on the team with 16 on the season and had 3 assists. Her efforts earned her Second Team All-Conference and rounded out an amazing rookie campaign.
Freshman midfielder Alyson Durben (Stow, Mass.) received Honorable Mention for her 2 goals and 2 assists in conference play. On the season, she had 6 goals and 5 assists in her rookie season.
After an off season of heavy recruiting and training for the fall season, Head Coach Paul Vasconcelos led the Lynx to a 14-4-1 (6-4-1 NAC) record in 2007 after finishing 2006 at 2-15-2. The remarkable turnaround earned this Lesley squad the NCAA DIII record for Most Improved Season All-Time. The NAC awarded Vasconcelos for his accomplishments in 2007 with a Co-Coach of the Year award.
