Preseason action versus Eastern Nazarene College

QUINCY, Mass. - The Lesley University women's soccer team opened up preseason action Saturday with a 5-1 win against Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy.

The match started as both teams took time to get comfortable and the half ended with a tight 2-1 advantage for the Lynx. Sophomore goalkeeper Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) started in goal for the Lynx and had a strong showing, finishing the game with eight saves.

Things opened up in the 2nd half and Lesley showed its quality. Sophomore striker Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) started where she left off last year scoring her 2nd of the match soon after halftime. Also scoring for Lesley were Molly Lawrence (Springvale, Me.), Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) and freshman Alyson Durben (Stow, Mass.).

"Having only been four days into preseason, I was very pleased. It was a great test for us. We held our own very well," said Head Coach Paul Vasconcelos. "I was also pleased with the newcomers, I believe that we will have a greater depth this season and that there's a bright future ahead for us."

The Lynx open up their 2007 campaign at the Daniel Webster Invitational tournament against SUNY Potsdam on Sept 1st.
