Mustangs run away from Lynx 3-1

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Lesley University took a 1-0 lead into the half against Mount Ida College, but was unable to hold on as the Mustangs came back to win the game. Mount Ida got three second half goals as they defeated Lesley University 3-1.

Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) found Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) who buried a point blank shot in the 28th minute to put the Lady Lynx up 1-0. The Mustangs were relentless but behind a solid defense led by Catherine Folkstead (Ipswich, Mass.) and keeper Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) Lesley led at the half 1-0.

Mount Ida came out with a vengeance in the second half and just 35 seconds into the half Andrea Wheeler found Katelyn Hobart for the Mustangs first goal of the match. The Mustangs would continue to pressure the Lynx and in the 77th minute Katie Lorenco found Allie DeAngelis for Mount Ida's second goal. The Mustangs put the game away once and for all in the 87th minute when Kristin Santos connected with Ashley Fisher to make the game 3-1.

Despite allowing three goals freshman keeper Hailee Lowe was outstanding in her first start as a Lynx. Lowe had 13 saves including a brilliant diving stop on a PK by Ashley Fisher.
