Lady Lynx improve to 2-0-1

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University women's soccer team officially has an undefeated streak, following their thrilling 4-3 victory over Mitchell College.  The Lady Lynx have started off the season 2-0-1, with wins over Pine Manor College and Mitchell College, and a tie against Daniel Webster College.

The Lady Lynx started the scoring early on against Mitchell when Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) snuck a near post shot on the left side past Mitchell's Molly Gill just 10:37 into the contest.  Fralick was just getting warmed up.  Fralick scored her eighth goal of the year and the second of the match at the 30:03 mark when she buried a ball into the net from twenty-five feet out, assisted by Maggie Surrena (Vestal, N.Y.).

Mitchell College came back to even it up at 2-2 at halftime.  Mitchell's Mallory Silva had two unassisted goals (39:55, 43:40) to tie the game.

Lesley caught a break to start the second half when Mitchell College had an own goal (56:58).  Fralick sent a corner into the box and in an attempt to clear the ball a Mitchell College player put the ball in her own net.

Mitchell stormed back and just nine minutes later (67:00) Kailynn Orr had an unassisted goal to tie the game up.

The teams battled back and forth up and down the field over the next fifteen minutes with neither team being able to put anything together until Fralick found Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) open for the game winning goal (80:58).

Head Coach Alison Bimba commented on the victory over Mitchell College, "This team has a lot of character because we have found the back of the net in the last two second halves of the last two games.  We have already beaten last year's record which is huge for this program, and I can't wait to see how much the team will continue to develop."
