THE LEAD – The Lesley University women's basketball team concluded its two-game homestand with a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest versus Husson University, where the squad fell 91-36 Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Ahidali DeHuelbes (Tucson, Ariz.) opened things up with a three to give the Lynx an early 3-0 advantage. However, the Eagles responded and went on a 21-5 run for a 13-point advantage before Lesley called a timeout. During Husson's offensive explosion, Makaelyn Porter led the way with four points. Coming out of the break, Husson kept Lesley at bay the rest of the quarter and took a 31-10 lead going into the second.
  • As the second quarter got underway, both sides played more defensively, as the Eagles only slightly outscored the Lynx, 13-10. After a Lilly Roy layup gave the Eagles a 40-12 advantage, the Lynx closed out the half on an 8-4 run and went into halftime down 44-20. Four different Lynx were able to find the bottom of the net during the team's late surge.
  • Husson's offense continued where it left off to start the third as the visitors started on a 17-4 and grew its lead to 40 (64-24). Lauren Cook and Lilly Roy combined for four threes during the Eagles scoring run for Husson.
  • Going into the fourth, the Eagles took a 72-28 advantage and never looked back. After both sides exchanged baskets to start the fourth, Lesley called a timeout with 8:21 to play. Coming out of the break, the Eagles offense finished strong and closed the game out on a 17-4 run for the 91-36 win.
