THE LEAD – The Lesley Lynx posted their first win of the season on a road match against the Fisher College Falcons. Alexandra Kerley had another impressive showing with a whopping 37 points and 17 rebounds on the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons posted the first basket of the game, and Lesley took it from there going on a six-point run to take an early lead on the match.
- Both teams continued to fire off shots, finishing the quarter with Lesley in the lead 13-6.
- Fisher opened up the second quarter with a three pointer and a free throw to come within three points of the Lynx. Lesley answered but so did the Falcons, with three minutes to go in the second the score was tied 22-22.
- The Falcons pulled ahead and a layup from Kerley at the one second mark evened out the score before breaking for halftime.
- The lead continued to change possession, as neither team was able to keep hold of it for too long.
- Lesley took hold of the lead and started the four quarter with a five point advantage. In the last 30 seconds of the match the Falcons came within three-points of the Lynx on two separate occasions. Lesley managed to hold the lead and finished the match with a 75-70 win.
INSIDE THE NUMERS
- Kerley led the Lynx, posting a monster double-double with 37 points and 17 rebounds.
- Freshman guard Savannah Gravitt followed with 15 points and five rebounds.
- The win was the first collegiate Head Coaching victory for Lesley Head Coach Martin Rather.
