THE LEAD – The Lynx travelled to New Hampshire for their 2023 season opener, a non-conference matchup against New England College.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lynx and pilgrims were evenly matched almost the entirety of the first quarter, until NEC started pulling ahead with just 4 minutes left.
- Lesley tried to battle back in the second but weren't able to get closer than 14 points to the Pilgrims lead.
- Both teams continued to steadily add points to the board, NEC leading Lesley 64-35 at the end of the third.
- Lesley outscored NEC 16-15 in the fourth but lost the match 79-51.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Senior Alex Kerley picked up 17 rebounds and 21 points for the Lynx.
- Freshmen Saniyyah Phillips and Savannah Gravitt each contributed double-digit points for the Lynx.
