Lynx Finish Out Season With Loss to Mitchell

GAME OVERVIEW:

NEW LONDON, CT. -- The Lesley Women's Basketball team lost their final conference game of the regular season to the Mitchell College Mariners 72-55 on Saturday afternoon. The Lynx finish at 2-18 and 0-6 in the conference, while the Mariners advance to 10-13 overall and 2-4 in NECC play.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Lynx played strong to close out the game, but fell too far behind early on to make a comeback. Mitchell rode Amina Wiley's huge scoring push to build their early lead, especially in a difficult second quarter for both teams. Wiley scored ten points in the second quarter and no player on either team scored more than four.
  • Wiley would prove to be too much to handle for the Lynx, putting up 32 points and 15 rebounds (nine offensive). The only other two Mariners with more than five points were Sam McKenna with 12 and Le'Sandra Turner with 10.
  • Kizziah Ruff led her side with a strong offensive performance. Ruff scored 21 points and collected 4 steals, with Sydnie Drezek contributing fourteen points on 50% shooting.
