Offensive Boards Boost Pilgrims Over Lynx

GAME OVERVIEW:

MEDFORD, MA. -- The Lesley Women's Basketball team lost a conference matchup with the New England College Pilgrims on Wednesday night by a score of 87-44. The Lynx fall to 2-17 and 0-5 in the conference, while the Pilgrims advance to 17-6 and 5-1 in the NECC.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Lynx did their best to keep up the Pilgrims in the first half, led by six points from Alexandra Kerley. NEC stayed ahead by taking care of the ball and ensuring they took advantage of Lesley's mistakes. The Pilgrims forced 11 turnovers in the first quarter alone and only committed one.
  • NEC put the game away in the third quarter, limiting Lesley to only five points on one shot made from the field. They added 29 of their own to shut the Lynx down before the final ten minutes of the game.
  • Brianna Pierreval led the Pilgrims with 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Mariah Thomas had 12 and 10 and Ericka Pratt had nine points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Kizziah Ruff's eleven points topped the Lynx, while Kerley finished with ten points and eight rebounds.
  • The Pilgrims outrebounded the Lynx 59 to 35 and did a good portion of their damage on second chances. 29 of their 59 total rebounds were offensive and the Pilgrims turned those second chances into 31 points.
