Shooting Struggles Sink Lynx In 71-43 Loss to Rivier

GAME OVERVIEW:

MEDFORD, MA. -- The Lesley Women's Basketball team fell to the Rivier Raiders 71-43 on Monday night to close out their November schedule. The Lynx drop to 2-5 this sesaon after the loss, while the Raiders move up to 3-2.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Lynx played their best in the first quarter, but trailed 20-17 at the end of it. Kizziah Ruff had the hot hand early, scoring seven in the first ten minutes. Lyric Glumbatt matched her for the Raiders on her way to a massive scoring night.
  • Lesley could not get much going from there, shooting only 22% over the final three quarters. Grumblatt, meanwhile, exploded in the second and fourth quarters for ten and thirteen points, respectively. She finished with 33 on the night, adding eight rebounds and three steals. SHe shot 50% fromt he field, including 50% from three.
  • Free throws were difficult for the Lynx, as they left thirteen points on the board by shooting only 7 for 20 from the line. The Raiders did not shoot particularly well from the field outside of Grumblatt, but they were able to convert opportunities that the Lynx could not.
  • Ruff led the Lynx with 16 points and 7 rebounds, while Alexandra Kerley had a game high fifteen rebounds and Raven Premont picked up five. Anna Stenger was the other productive Raider on the night, finishing with sixteen points and seven rebounds.
