ATTLEBORO, Mass. – First year guard Linda Wallentine (Monroe Township, N.J.) earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week honors for the first time this season, announced Monday afternoon.
During the final week of the regular season, Wallentine averaged 19.0 points per game in 73 minutes against conference foes Regis College and Bay Path University. The New Jersey native closed out the week registering 20-plus points for the second time in four games, netting 20 points while shooting 50% from the field against the Wildcats.
Earlier in the week against the regular season champion Regis College, Walentine shot 41.2% from the field to net a team-high 18 points against the Pride.
Wallentine and the Lynx are playoff bound and will travel to the #1 seed Regis College, Tuesday evening, February 21st at 7:00 p.m.
