Jones Earns NECC Rookie Honors For Fifth Time

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – First year forward Dakota Jones (Torrance, Calif.) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week honors for the fifth time this season, announced Monday morning.

Over the course of the three-game week, the Southern California native was a force in defensive front court averaging 13.7 rebounds per game. Jones closed out the week registering a her career single-game high, pulling down 21 boards – 12 defensive and nine offensive – against NECC foe Becker College, Saturday afternoon. Additionally, she came two points shy of posting her 12th double-double of the season, tallying eight points for th4 lynx.

Jones began the week shooting a remarkable 41.7% from the field on the road against conference foe Newbury College where she finished with 11 points, Monday night.

In addition to claiming NECC rookie honors for the fifth time, it is also the fourth time in five weeks Jones earned the conference recognition.
