Regis Races Past Women's Basketball; Dimou With Career-High 23

WESTON, Mass. – Lesley University senior Ari Dimou (Manchester, N.H.) set a new career-high, pouring in a team-best 23 points but Regis College raced past the Lynx 122-52 in New England Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball tonight on Higgins Court.

Dimou's output topped her previous career-high of 21 set on January 18, 2014 against Newbury College. Sophomore Theresa Pereira (Hopedale, Mass.) aided Dimou's offense with 12 points to go with three rebounds while senior Hayley Wirth (Escondido, Calif.) also set a new career-high, hitting 3-of-4 shots from the field on her way to nine points off the bench for the Lynx. Junior Emily Meade (Derry, N.H.) finished with six points.

Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) led all players with 37 points, 25 of which came in the first half. The sophomore forward was hot all night long, hitting 14-of-16 from the field and 9-of-10 from the free throw line. Brandi Bonneau (Derry, N.H.) dished out a game-high 15 assist to go with six boards and five points while Chayla Louro (Randolph, Mass.) added 26 points off the bench.

Regis was 44-of-70 (62.9%) from the floor which was their finest shooting performance of the season while holding the Lynx to 35% (20-of-57). They also outscored the Lynx 64-22 down low and knocked down 24-of-29 from the charity stripe compared to Lesley's 9-of-15 rate on freebies.

The Lynx will wrap up their 2015-16 campaign on Thursday when they host Bay Path Univeristy at 8:00p. Prior to the game, the Lynx will celebrate Senior Night. Regis returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Bennington, Vt. to square off against the Southern Vermont Mountaineers at 1:00 p.m. in their regular season finale.
